Airpocalypse is an Air Quality Index app that shows the current AQI in a beautifully simple and fun interface that highlights the importance of the changing world around us. After enabling your location the user can easily see what their local AQI is along with additional information on any present and relevant pollutants currently in the air. As the air quality lessens, the aethetics within the app become much more gloomy and atmospheric. Built in partnership with Odette Digital, this project was inspired by New York City, Summer 2023, in which pollutants from the raging fires across Canada stained the city's sky a world-ending burnt orange, the effects of which lingered for weeks.
